For one of our prestigious customer in Brussels we are looking for a Unix Solaris Expert.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage Solaris 10/11 servers, tuning, scripting regular actions
  • Monitor correct operations of the systems and perform error detection tests
  • Conduct computer diagnostics to determine nature of problems, provide technical assistance and perform minor repairs to hardware (Field Replaceable Unit), software and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications
  • Carry out regular system and data backups and restore missing or corrupted data as required
  • Manage access security at all levels (users - credentials, RBAC -, network protocols)
  • Apply security procedures
  • Carry out capacity analysis and system evaluation
  • Manage the information system environments (production, test, development), including the application servers
  • Produce technical documentation and procedures
  • Collaborate with the technical services of the hardware and software providers, namely Oracle
  • Proactively propose improvement actions for the hosting service

Successful Candidate

Mandatory knowledge and skills:

  • UNIX administration
  • Solaris 10/11: ldoms, Zones, ZFS, SMF, roles, projects, …
  • Shell scripting (Korn / Bash / Bourne)
  • Apache web server configuration
  • Java / Tomcat deployment and management
  • IP Networking: knowledge in protocols, firewall, DMZ

Would be an asset:

  • Oracle ZS3-2
  • Oracle 12c administration
  •  EMC Networker
  • ColdFusion 9/10/11

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The minimum experience required is 8 years.
The following trainings would be and asset:
Sun Solaris official training
Oracle basic training

Minimum 8 years of recent experience in the management of Solaris systems.

The candidates must be eligible for obtaining a security clearance to handle European Union Classified Information up to the level of "SECRET UE".
