We are hiring a Operating System Deployment and Update Expert for European Commission DG Informatics (DIGIT TM) in Brussels and various locations around Europe.

Main Responsibilities

Responsibilities :

Following tasks will be performed by external service provider:

Design systems management solutions more specifically:

Design solutions for the secure deployment of operating systems.

Design solutions for quickly and securely patching systems.

Support application design with performance improvement recommendations.

Integrate end point security solutions on servers.

Responsible of managing critical incidents.

Ensures adequate technical support for operations.

Installation, configuration, and administration of Application Infrastructure (Middleware)

Driving the use of automation.

IT Project management for Commission-wide workplace infrastructure projects • contributing to continuous improvement of all adjacent services and processes;

Documenting internal working procedures and deliverables.

Producing management information, including SQIs, KPIs and reports.

Collect process measurements to determine if the objectives are being met playing the role of the critical Incident Manager (Manager on Duty) coordinating recovery from major incidents. This includes driving, developing, managing and maintaining the major incident process and associated.

Collaboration with other departments of the Commission and other EUIBAs

 

 

Successful Candidate

LEVEL OF EDUCATION : Educational qualification qualification Framework which typically corresponds to a master degree of 5 years or o  Bachelor degree.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: 

Following skills and knowledge are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, to help develop creative and practical solutions

• Experience in managing ICT related Projects.

• The ability to work in a proactive and independent manner, with a focus on priorities, communication and decision-making capacities

• Good organization, coordination and planning skills – with a high degree of drive and desire to empower ICT change and evolution.

• Excellent communication skills, adaptable to audiences ranging from senior management to technology specialists
