We are currently searching for an experienced and dynamic Validation Engineer to join our international team in Frascati, Rome. You would be dedicated to the integration and verification service of new evolutions (i.e. releases) of data processing software regarding the future BIOMASS satellite mission. The primary task is to support the Integration, Validation and Verification of software components in the frame of the B-COPS contract. 

Responsibilities
  • Review of SW technical notes.
  • Requirements analysis and traceability to test cases and procedures.
  • Test documentation preparation.
  • Review and coordination of unit testing activities and related documentation.
  • Acceptance of Software components.
  • Tests execution and evaluation.
  • Analysis of SW issues in collaboration with Development team.
  • Generation and maintenance of technical documentation

Profile
  • Engineering degree (or similar) and at least 3 years’ experience related to system integration, validation and verification.
  • Software Engineering Experience. 
  • Good experience with Linux, Unix and shell scripting.
  • Good experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with issue tracking systems and code version control systems.
  • Knowledge of the ECSS standard.
  • Experience in the definition and maintenance of user requirements for ESA's PDGS is an asset.
  • Problem solving.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are needed, together with a high degree organizational and communication abilities, and comfortable with working in a diverse and multinational team environment.
  • Proficient in the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of another EU member state language is an asset.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU.
