One of our main major customers in the continental Europe is the European Space Agency, with Serco being the largest on-site service provider.

For 2017 we anticipate further growth in our operations in ESTEC and as a result we are pleased to announce the following opportunity.

Main Responsibilities

  • Hands on technical and engineering support to the ESA BIC start- ups;
  • To coordinate the technical and engineering support with TEC experts;
  • To maintain a database of the technical, engineering and business support capabilities within the ESA BIC and Technology Transfer Broker Network;
  • To establish a yearly report of the technical and engineering support provided by the ESA BIC and Technology Transfer Broker Network;
  • To support the selection of start-ups for ESA BICs and ESA supported idea competitions (e.g. ESNC, Copernicus);
  • To support an ESA mentor programme (technical and engineering by retired ESA staff);
  • To support industry sessions and workshops related to space business and technology.

Successful Candidate

  • University engineering degree in a space relevant technical field, ideally in applications areas as Navigation or Earth Observation;
  • At least 4 years experience working in the space field;
  • Track record in technology consulting or should have worked in projects;
  • Diplomas or previous experience in relevant areas such as technology transfer, technology assessment would also be an asset;
  • Familiarity with the services provided by ESA and TTP would be an asset;
  • Understanding the needs and expectations of the TTPO and the mission of the European Space Agency would be an advantage;
  • Have knowledge about database management;
  • Candidates must be fluent in English.
