Main Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Software Release Manager to work in an exciting and challenging EU Government environment.The customer would like somebody very operational.

Tasks:

  • The Release Manager will assist in managing projects and interdependencies to ensure milestone adherence to ensure the integrity of the release can be measured.
  • The Release Manager will be a link between Project manager and JAVA development team and will establish / follow existing Release Management procedures, processes, metrics, and standards.
  • Act as primary liaison between other functional groups for configuration and release management purposes
  • He/she will oversee each release, the build and the follow up of the integrations
  • You will be responsible for implementing and managing release processes for code through development, test, and production environments.
  • Ensure development groups create, build and release software packages for testing and release purposes as per defined procedures and standards.
  • Ensure Release Management documentation set is maintained.
  • Ensure projects maintain configuration control of software baselines and modifications.
  • The Release Manager Job function works collaboratively with all participants in software development projects and is supportive of developers and testers as they set up their build dev/test environments.
  • This position also works with IT management to improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating software and environments.
  • The Release Management responsibilities also include building the IT Release Calendar in working closely with the IT release managers from different portfolios across IT and centralizing view of all releases.
  • Leads the effort of defining the IT strategic direction for release management tools for IT to ensure the process requirements of release management are built in.
  • Ensure Release Management processes are developed further, continuously monitored and improved to ensure optimal efficiency.

Successful Candidate

  • Minimum 10 years of strong experience with a combination of intensive competency/practice management in Oracle environment 
  • Strong experience Release Management
  • Excellent knowledge of software deployment management

  •  Excellent knowledge of software release management;

  • Knowledge of application servers;

  • Knowledge of building and deployment tools (Jenkins, Maven, Weblogic, Bamboo);

  • Good knowledge of modelling tools (e.g. UML);

  • ITIL knowledge an advantage
  • Strong technological background, with degree level technical / engineering qualification in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Excellent English skills, French would be an advantage
