Job Introduction

We are hiring an IS Tester for the European Commission in Brussels and various locations around Europe.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform quality assurance and quality control activities.
- Advice on quality improvements.
- Coordination of test campaigns.
- Identify and report non-conformity, analyse the root cause and propose corrective actions.
- Perform and report on Functional and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT). She/he may be requested to perform additional tests, to verify test scenarios (including exhaustiveness) and to verify that all results are logged. In addition, she will report on actual test results compared to the expected results and advise on the deployment of releases and the related risks.
- Work in close collaboration with Service Desk and Technical support team for assessing the severity of the issues reported by users of the system, reproduce them in test environments, propose and follow-up implementation of workarounds and/or permanent fix solutions.
- Execute different types of functional security and confidentiality breaching tests such as access control, permissions matrix and visibility of private information verifications.
- Contribute to the automated testing effort and other technical tasks in order to prepare and develop sets of test cases and scenarios suitable for automation.
- Review and/or maintain requirements traceability matrix including relations between requirements, use cases, technical design, test cases and releases.
- Interaction with the business analysts, customer, users, project leaders and the developers.
Successful Candidate
LEVEL OF EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Excellent knowledge of information systems quality assurance including defining test cases, testing, defining user story acceptance criteria
- Excellent knowledge of testing lifecycle
- Good knowledge of business analysis
- Good knowledge of Agile development methodologies (such as SCRUM, Kanban…)
- Good knowledge of data exchange formats (XML, Json)
- Good knowledge of test automation tools (Selenium, Playwright…)
- Knowledge of webservices (REST)
- Knowledge of tracking tools (JIRA)
- Ability to define test case scenarios and perform functional tests
- Very good analytical skills
- Ability to apply high quality standards
- Ability to work individually as well as in a team
- Good communication and drafting skills in English; aptitudes in reporting.
