Main Responsibilities
Team lead experience
Engineering and design experience
An advanced-level command of English, with proven drafting ability, and an intermediate-level command of at least one other official language of the European Union;
A working knowledge of MS Office applications (in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
A good knowledge of Information Technology (IT).
Report to the Project Manager. Under her/his supervision, the senior Oracle database
developer and DWH Co-ordinator analysis, develops, integrates, tests and documents application software modules to meet agreed business specifications and timelines;
Participate in IT projects throughout the complete lifecycle for the design, development and deployment of IT application solutions based on Oracle;
Coordinate, design and draft technical specifications of database solutions in line with the functional and non functional requirements;
Develop a working knowledge of business processes already implemented or to be implemented in the database solutions;
Optimise the performance of applications making use of Oracle databases;
Review and implement security policies to the Oracle solutions, ensuring data consistency and
integrity;
Performs technical testing and prepares the relevant technical documentation;
Develop appropriate scripts and procedures for the build and packing of database application components;
Support end- users during acceptance tests and operational teams during deployment to the preproduction and production environments, diagnosing and resolving problems affecting database;
Investigate, diagnose and resolve bugs and incidents in the post-go live support of operations;
Provide training to 1st and 2nd level support staff on new procedures and techniques for application maintenance and is responsible for problem escalation to Oracle and third parties, as appropriate.
Successful Candidate
Excellent knowledge and experience of ORACLE 10g and 11g or above, including related products (e.g. Oracle Forms);
Proven experience in system engineering, design and support, administering and maintaining mission-critical production databases including problem solving and performance;
Good knowledge and experience of data model analysis and design;
Good knowledge of PL/SQL and XML;
Good knowledge in writing complex SQL statements and tuning existing SQL statements for performance and scalability;
Experience as Team Leader, Project Leader or Coordinator of developers or analysts.
Good analytical skills and a problem-solving orientation;
Shows commitment and supports team members to the achievement of team and organisational goals;
Manages multiple assignments and tracks progress on numerous processes simultaneously;
Uses diplomacy and tact when dealing with colleagues;
Communicates ideas in an effective manner (e.g. using simple/clear words) and ensuring mutual comprehension;
Generates agreed results within defined time frames;
Proposes improvements based on feedback and analysis;
Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, proactive, client-service orientation and the ability to work in a team are very important.
