We are seeking for a Microsoft Desktop Engineer to work on our Customers Site (EUMESTAT) in Germany. This is a fantastic opportunity to get into one of the most sought-after space agencies in the world.
Main Responsibilities
We are looking for a motivated and talented Desktop Engineer who has experience with both SCCM and InTune and is a proactive team player.
As Microsoft Desktop Engineer you will concentrate your activities on the following:
- Package Applications for distribution to end user Computers using Intune and SCCM.
- Building, packaging and installations of software solutions via Intune.
- OS imaging preparation and deployment to end user Computers using Intune and Autopilot.
- Provide 2nd level user and technical support for Windows client, Microsoft 365 and third party end user applications.
- Liaise with the external service provider and if necessary, escalate 3rd level incidents.
- Operate Maintain the Desktop/Notebook/Cloud PC OS and Application deployment.
- Manage and troubleshooting Windows Updates to patch the systems regularly with Windows Autopatch.
- Upgrade the Desktop/Notebook OS regularly in order to keep the systems always under support.
- Prepare, evaluate and coordinate the validation of software patches and updates to keep the Desktops up-to-date against security issues and vulnerabilities.
- Maintain software and license databases.
- Operate, monitor, patch, upgrade, troubleshoot, maintain operational procedures for Endpoint Protection Services:
- CyberArk EPM
- Windows Defender

Required skills and experience:
- Application Packaging, distribution and troubleshooting using Intune and SCCM.
- Desktop OS imaging configuration and deployment for large organization using SCCM and Intune.
- Migration of hybrid and domain-joined Windows client machines for large sized organization, keeping users data using Intune and SCCM.
- 2nd level OS and end user application support for large organization.
- Active Directory and Azure Entra-ID user and licensing administration and distribution.
- Management of Active Directory Group Policies.
Desired skills and experience:
- Jira for user incident support and reporting.
- Confluence for documentation and reporting.
- Horizon VDI desktop imaging deployment, support and troubleshooting.
- Cloud PC Desktop deployments.
- Batch and PowerShell scripting.
- Management and configuration of Conditional Access policies in Azure / Entra-ID.

Serco provides the User Helpdesk and Data Centre Operations Service of the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), which plays a key role in enhancing the use of EUMETSAT data, products and data services.
The main objective of the service is to ensure effective and user-driven service to support the provision of data, both real-time and offline, as well as to provide comprehensive technical information to support all forms of user enquiries relating both to current operational services and to future satellite programmes of EUMETSAT.
