We currently have an exciting opportunity for an EXPERT IN IT OPERATIONS, based in Brussels.

Role Responsibility

The key person will:

• Participate in designing, implementing the security strategy for the concerned components; 

• Configure and administer ABAC/SUMMA/SWIFT Components according to the design and specification; 

• Ensure communication at the right detailed technical levels with experts in other DGs (DIGIT, ...);

• Propose and implement solutions to support the DG BUDG development community, as well as colleagues operating ABAC, SUMMA and SWIFT; 

• Identify, propose and implement technical improvements regarding the overall IT operations and development if needed; 

• Manage security features of SWIFT components like: User control, Incident Handling, Payment execution... 

• Advice software architects on security and operational matters; 

• For his operational scope, advice over the security and vulnerability testing reports and suggest follow up with solutions; 

• Participate to proof-of-concepts of technical components; 

• Should document the solution description in various stages: Specification and detail design, technology or design decisions, release notes, installation and configuration documentation; 

• Attendance in technical working groups and progress meetings; 

• Attendance in workshops and meetings with external stakeholders; 

• Install and configure the necessary environments for the implementation of SWIFT / Eastnet components; 

• Should support planning activities related to the skills and efforts needed to implement the proposed solution; 

• Should provide assistance for tests in building test plan (test cases, test data); 

• Should provide enhancement of operational control base on established tests strategy; 

• Should prepare notes and presentations referring to SWIFT system description, system architecture, with a constant focus of reflecting how the system proposal is fulfilling the requirements. 

Successful Candidate

The key person should have:

• Expertise in installing, configuring and administering Linux, and service based infrastructure 

• Expertise in NetApp & VMWare installation, configuration, and administration 

• Proven knowledge and experience with deployment keys such as OAuth2, CSRF, SSH, GIT; 

• Proven knowledge and experience with 2 way SSL security using certificates, CommisSign; any other related tool is a plus; 

• Relevant knowledge of general web technologies like: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Java Web Services (Tomcat, Weblogic) 

• Good knowledge of XML and related technologies; 

It would be an asset to have : 

• Good knowledge of SWIFT Alliance and SWIFT Connect components and related 

• security aspects, as well as interoperability with SAP; o Good knowledge of BLOOMBERG components and related security aspects, as well as interoperability with SAP; 

• Excellent ability to quickly adapt to an existing project, following the established guidelines and rules; 

• Relevant experience in designing and implementing of highly customizable electronic forms and templates; 

• Experience in maintaining and adapting of a large-scale system to the constantly-changing requirements and performance challenges of a production-phase application;

• Ability to proactively analyse and learn new software concepts and technologies; 

• Excellent ability to design, implement and maintain the user interface architecture and inter- module communication of a large application; experience in production is highly recommended; 

• Good knowledge of communication and enterprise integration; 

• Expert knowledge on configuration of the Windows, Unix, or Linux operating system in use at the Commission; 

• Expert knowledge of security aspect and strategies; 

• ITIL knowledge.
