On behalf of our client, the European Space Agency, we are looking for a skilled Communication Systems & Technologies Engineer to join our team at the esteemed ESA-ESTEC site, in the Netherlands. Step into a remarkable role that grants you access to one of the globe's highly coveted space agencies!
Main Responsibilities
As a Communication Systems & Technologies Engineer you will concentrate your activities on the following:
- Assistance in preparation of invitation to tenders related to ESA R&D.
- Support the management of industrial R&D activities in the areas of: i)satellite modem physical and link layer analysis, design, prototyping and testing; ii) SATCOM Systems and network analysis and simulations.
- Support internal hands-on technical analysis on subjects related to future SATCOM systems.
- Support the preparation of the section R&D technology roadmaps in the area of satellite telecom network protocols, architectures and systems.
- Technical coordination of the Telecom Lab activities.
Successful Candidate
Do you think you are the person we are looking for? See below what experience or knowledge you should bring:
- Master’s Degree in Electrical, Computer or Telecommunications engineering.
- +4 years of work experience in the field of complex digital communications systems and networks.
- Solid background on telecom protocols at different layers.
- Knowledge of SATCOM systems and networks, together with familiarity with computer simulations and programming languages is required.
- Good technical background in telecommunication engineering and of the main satellite and terrestrial standards is considered an asset.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory tools ad test facilities is considered an asset.
- Comfortable with working in a diverse and multinational team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are needed, together with a high degree organizational and communication abilities.
- Proficient in the English language, both written and spoken.
- Knowledge of another EU member state language is an asset.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU.
