Main Responsibilities

Responsibilities :

  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Identifying business needs and determining solutions to business problems
  • Requirements/needs management and tracking
  • Create Vision and Business Case documents or contribute in developing Vision and Business Case documents
  • Modelling business processes
  • Functional requirements and business cases analysis
  • Risk analysis
  • Create and maintain documentation of business requirements and solutions using appropriate documentation standards
  • Provide input for the software development process
  • Tracking of the activities against the plan and provision of reports
  • Review of project deliverables
  • Provision of expert opinion, advice and recommendations
  • Participation in meetings - both internal and meetings with contractors and stakeholders

Successful Candidate

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

  • A bachelor degree of 3 years

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Excellent organisational and soft skills with the ability to deliver high quality results.
  • Good knowledge of large organisation administrative business processes.
  • Good knowledge of iterative project management methodologies (e.g. Agile).
  • Good knowledge of business analysis, modelling, tools and techniques (use case diagrams, state diagrams, entity relationship model etc).
  • Experience in product scope definition, requirements elaboration, experience in negotiation with actors from the business and IT community, as well as technical knowledge in specific areas (e.g. UML modelling).
  • Ability to give business and technical presentations
  • Ability to apply high quality standards
  • Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Analysis and problem solving skills
  • Capability to write clear and structured technical documents
  • Ability to participate in technical meetings and good communication skills

Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:

  • Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team;
  • Ability to participate in multilingual meetings;
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects;
  • Excellent Team Player
  • Very good ability to understand, speak and write in very good English (C1/C2), knowledge of any other language will be an advantage;
  • High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained in DG JUST contain personal and confidential data
