Main Responsibilities
- Act as a single point of contact providing technical support on video conference matters;
- Schedule the planned videoconference meetings into the videoconference system, configuring each meeting in accordance with the requestor’s wishes;
- Operating, real-time monitoring and troubleshooting video conferences with a view to resolving observed issues rapidly;
- Coordination of tests of video conference studios with external entities and recording information and results in the appropriate database;
- Execute the video conference team’s ITIL based processes, e.g. capacity management, problem management, configuration management;
- Update databases and applications relating to the communications environment in use;
- Provide out-of-hours video conference support for special ESA events, such as launches;
- Maintain understanding of current and new video conferencing technology;
- Any other related duties, as assigned on an ad-hoc basis by the team leader or ESTEC ICT Services Manager.
Successful Candidate
- In-depth knowledge of, or the ability to quickly learn, the Polycom videoconferencing platform, especially the Polycom RMX2000, CMA4000 and HDX and Grp 500 Series platform CODECs;
- Attainment of the Polycom Certified Videoconferencing Engineer (CVE) qualification is strongly desirable;
- Operation and configuration experience of Tandberg / Cisco VTC endpoints and Multipoint Conferencing Units;
- Detailed knowledge of Windows 7 & Windows 10 operating systems, networking technologies and video and audio conferencing protocols and standards;
- Impeccable customer service skills;
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing needs;
- Ability to work unsupervised;
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to multi-task;
- Excellent planning skills;
- Excellent written and oral skills in English;
- Knowledge of Dutch and/or French is desirable;
- Knowledge of ITIL.
