Job Introduction

We are hiring a User Documentation and Training Person for European Commission in Brussels and various locations around Europe.
Main Responsibilities
- Discuss with stakeholders what they want to do and what can be achieved
- Producing/maintaining training material (wiki pages, collaborative site pages, etc.)
- Writing IS on-line help
- Configuring and testing the system for the training scenarios to be used
- Clarify user expectations of course content and system behaviour
- Organising training/coaching sessions
- Give training / coaching (users and support services)
- Provide guidance using social networks
- Support users in the review process of the documentation
- Ensure proper follow-up via IMT
- QA review of training material to ensure the defined standards and procedures are been followed.
- Ensure that the material produced meets the training scope defined and reflects the agreed release of the tool
- Prepare Storyboards
- Creation of videos in order to explain the use of software to users
- Review of training material specifically videos with audio recordings
- Design graphics that can be updated and reused when needed
- Production of audio scripts
- Should be prepared to record own voice for video and/or appear in videos
- Create and maintain templates and standards and processes
- Publish material, while adhering to the publication standards and privacy standards
Successful Candidate
LEVEL OF EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Very good knowledge of building training material
- Coaching experience
- Proficient understanding of instructional design theories methodologies and best practices, including interactive online teaching methods
- Proven ability to collaborate with team members to execute a shared project plan and meet deadlines
- Ability to apply high quality standards
- Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
- Analysis and problem solving skills
- Capability to write clear and structured documents
- Ability to participate in technical meetings
- Knowledge of ICT infrastructure technologies used in the Commission especially MS Outlook, MS Teams, MS Word, Firefox or Chrome or Edge, Windows 10.
- Knowledge of Atlassian Confluence and Jira would be an asset.
- Knowledge of Javascript, HTML, CSS, Ajax and SQL is considered an asset.
SPECIFIC EXPERTISE
- Work experience in online education or training, preferably designing and implementing professional education products (minimum 3 years)
- Instructional design theories methodologies and best practices, including interactive online teaching methods content (min. competence level 3)
