Main Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITES : 

  • You are in charge of the program oversight, developing and implementing policies and procedures for the transition house.
  • You manage the team and ensure structural interactions with the various partners and actors.
  • You ensure cooperation and contacts with the neighbourhood, cooperation partners, the local social field, the detention management service, police, local authorities, partner detention centers, etc.
  • You take responsibility for the vision and the methodological framework.
  • You establish and enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • You support the group of residents by organizing and chairing meetings.
  • You are responsible for the placement plan of each resident, the follow-up and control of exit permits and penitentiary leave and the cooperation with the local detention center.

Successful Candidate

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

  • Master's degree or equivalent of 5year degree in social work, psychology, criminology or a related field.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in social work, crisis intervention, or non-profit management.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Belgian laws and regulations related to shelters and social services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Serco
  • French and English, Dutch is a plus.
