We are hiring a Technology Expert – tester experienced in test automation including REST interface testing and performance testing for our prestigious partner DIGIT TM (DG Informatics) in Brussels. DIGIT-TM is a contract from the European Commission for IT services across Europe. This role is involved in the quality assurance stage of software development and deployment, conducting automated and manual tests to ensure the software created by developers is fit for purpose.

Role Responsibility

Your tasks will include:

• Provision of quality plans, quality assessments, quality control tests, evaluations and service level agreements associated with information projects
• Provide technical expertise within Test Automation and Quality Assurance.
• Ensuring that the development teams adhere to the principles, guidelines and best practices of the test strategy as defined.
• Focus on continuous test improvements including usage of appropriate testing tools, test techniques, test automation.
• Building and maintenance of quality standards as well as enforcing technical and testing standards.
• Monitoring of all the test activities, test results, leaked defects, root cause analysis and identifying areas of improvement. Implement steps required to improve the processes.
• Provide technical expertise in Test Automation, Testing Methodologies, Testing Processes, Tools and Techniques across the teams.
• Help team with the application of Agile methodologies in testing
• Writing and executing complex SQL Queries to perform back end testing
• Automating testing of Web Services with Soap UI

Successful Candidate

• Good knowledge of English (spoken, written)
• Rapid self-starting capability and experience in team working.
• Proactive attitude, communicative (i.e. good listener) and customer-oriented
• Knowledge to Design, develop and implement Test Plans, Cases & Processes.
• Knowledge to Preparing and execute test cases/scenarios (with datasets).
• Good knowledge of databases (demonstrable experience with different database systems, can write complex queries in SQL)
• Programming knowledge and understanding of Core Java
• Versioning system for development (SVN, Git etc)
• Testing Web services with SoapUI
• Experience working in Agile environments

The following experience is a plus:

• Experience in testing JEE apps, Angular apps
• Experience in performance testing with JMeter
