System Verification Support Engineer

We are looking for a System Verification Support Engineer to join our team at the esteemed ESA-ESTEC site in the Netherlands. Step into a remarkable role that grants you access to one of the globe's highly coveted space agencies!

Main Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct system-level analyses in the areas of communications, operations, mission analysis, mission planning, or end-to-end level performances using LSTM Baseline documentation and Satellite Design Specifications as key inputs.
  • Review and assess the verification closure proposed by the industrial team against Satellite Design Specifications and Instrument Requirement Specifications, ensuring compliance with ESA-level requirements (SSRD, SRD, MRD).
  • Develop and maintain a requirement verification traceability matrix in accordance with ECSS-E-ST-10-02C Annex B, ensuring thorough documentation and traceability of verification activities.
  • Produce Verification Reports and additional reports, models, or technical notes as necessary, complementing those delivered by the LSTM prime contractor and in alignment with ECSS-E-ST-10-02C Annex F.
  • Address identified deviations or non-compliance to system requirements by proposing, developing, and analyzing system-level solutions that are compatible with the Space and Ground Segment design definitions.
  • Utilize System and Instrument Verification plans (e.g., DDVP, FVP) and Satellite and Instrument Verification Control Documents as part of the overall system verification process.

Successful Candidate

Profile:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent in Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • At least 4 years of relevant post-master’s experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in system engineering with knowledge of mission analysis, S2G communication systems, and satellite operations.
  • Proven experience in conducting system-level analyses in space segment, flight operation segment, and ground segment systems.
  • Extensive experience in interacting with various stakeholders, including engineers and scientists.
  • A good level of autonomy and organizing skills is required.
  • Comfortable with working in a diverse and multinational team environment.
  • Proficient in the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of another EU member state language is an asset.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU.
