Due to our ongoing growth across the European Space sector, Serco is looking for a talented and experienced Space Software Engineer to join their team in Toulouse. If you're passionate about exploring complex datasets to enhance our vision of Earth and to develop cutting-edge solutions, then this opportunity is for you!

Main Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Space Software Engineer with expertise in space mechanics to join our team in Toulouse. You will contribute to the development of ground segment software for satellite missions, focusing on simulation, control, and data analysis systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact European space projects in a multidisciplinary and international environment.

Key Responsibilities

•    Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications for satellite simulation and data processing.

•    Implement and optimize algorithms related to orbital mechanics and satellite attitude control.

•    Participate in all phases of the software lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, integration, and validation.

•    Collaborate with domain experts, engineers, and scientists from partner organizations (e.g., CNES, ESA).

•    Ensure software quality through rigorous testing and documentation.

•    Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

Successful Candidate

•    Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.

•    Proven experience in Java development (minimum 2 years preferred).

•    Solid understanding of space mechanics, including orbital dynamics, perturbations, and attitude modelling.

•    Familiarity with scientific computing and numerical methods.

•    Experience with software development tools (e.g., Git, Maven, Jenkins).

•    Strong analytical skills, autonomy, and team spirit.

•    Fluent in English and French 

Desirable Assets

•    Prior experience in the space sector or with space agencies.

•    Knowledge of satellite mission operations or ground segment systems.

•    Experience with simulation frameworks or modelling tools.

•    Exposure to Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
