Job Introduction

Software development team is part of the ECLIPSE Product Development team and is involved in all phases of the Development Process. Overall, as a Software Development Team Lead, you play a crucial role in overseeing the development of software projects, leading a team to success, and contributing to the overall growth and success of the organization. The responsibilities also extend to analysis/assessments of operational problems, investigation of new technology and tools, supporting other developers, and contributing to the overall direction of the ECLIPSE suite of products - the essential software to work effectively in the space sector.

Main Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Leading a team of software developers by providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Managing the software development process, including setting goals, creating timelines, and monitoring progress.
  • Collaborating with other team leads, product owners/stakeholders, and project managers to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Assisting in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues, reviewing code, and ensuring high-quality standards are met.
  • Providing technical expertise and helping to drive innovation within the team.
  • Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continually improve the team's processes and performance.
  • Design, development, and testing of ECLIPSE web-based application
  • Full stack: involvement in all architecture layers (Web development, Java programming, Databases)
  • Participate in the ECLIPSE Sprint Demo, planning and stand-ups meetings
  • Perform peer code and design reviews
  • Produce technical documentation
  • Proactively striving to extend his/her own skills and capabilities in line with the agreed career goals

Successful Candidate

Profile

  • Several years of experience in software development, with a focus on leading teams and projects.
  • Experience in Web Application Development with JEE and Web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON,  JSP,  Servlet
  • Experience with web development Framework such as Spring, Hibernate, Struts and Lucene 
  • Experience with front-end frameworks such as JQuery and Angular
  • Experience with Relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with Git, SVN or other version control system
  • Strong analytical and object-orientated design capabilities
  • Effective English written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support team members.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering software projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and quality assurance processes.
  • Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Java (or others) certifications are an advantage
  • Experience with Document-Orientated databases (MongoDB) is an advantage
