Job Introduction

We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Network Support to join our team in Maastricht Office.
Main Responsibilities
Technical/professional qualification
Mandatory:
Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in networking and IT security technology: practical experience in network troubleshooting is essential on network equipment together with experience in the field of hardware installation, system integration, testing and servicing activities.
Minimum of 5 years practical experience with following brands: CISCO, CHECKPOINT and FORTINET
Detailed knowledge of data communication protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, FTP...), Routing, Switching proven by minimum 2 practical cases of experience.
Knowledge of Quality of Service and experience designing/implementing QoS in an enterprise environment proven by minimum 1 practical experience case as an example.
Minimum 2 years of practical experience with design concepts in LAN/WAN design
Desirable:
At least one hands-on experience in automation; scripting (e.g. Python)
Practical experience with GIGAMON (minimum 1 year)
At least one experience with network management tools and SIEM. (e.g. Elastic Flow, CA Spectrum & Splunk)
Experience in a project environment, quality/security standards, configuration management & tools
Good knowledge of MS Office tools Word, Excel, Visio.
Ability to draft clear and concise technical papers in English
Minimum 1 year experience with wireless products
Minimum 1-year practical experience with Network management systems
Knowledge of Dutch/German
Security Clearance
Minimum Level “Secret” Experts required to access sensitive areas within MUAC facilities must hold a security clearance of at least “Secret,” issued by the national security authorities of their country of origin or residence.
The tender submission must include:
Proof of the expert’s current “Secret” clearance
A signed commitment to maintain this clearance for the full contract term (up to 5 years)
A pledge to undertake all necessary steps, in a timely manner, to renew or extend the clearance if it expires during the contract period.

Background
Tasking services to assist EUROCONTROL internal staff in the Data Center Network (DCN) team at the Maastricht Centre
Network Design and Architecture: Crafting scalable and efficient network designs that meet the evolving needs of our data centers.
Implementation and Deployment: Overseeing the deployment of network solutions, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
Maintenance and Support: Providing ongoing support and maintenance to ensure the reliability and security of our network infrastructure.
Innovation and Optimization: Continuously exploring new technologies and methodologies to enhance network performance and efficiency.
Educational requirements
Mandatory:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications) or 15 years of experience in a networking or IT function.
Cisco CCNA Security, CCNP, CCDP accredited.
At least 2 accreditations from leading firewall manufacturers (Fortinet, Checkpoint, Juniper, Palo Alto)
Linux LPIC-2 certified
Language Requirements:
Mandatory
Ability to work and communicate in English Technical/professional qualification (Listening/Writing/Understanding) level - C1/B2/B2.
