Job Introduction

We are seeking a Market Research Analyst Intern!

This role will focus on identifying and analysing potential service contract opportunities within major UN-related and international organizations based in Europe. The intern will map institutional priorities, procurement frameworks, and tendering mechanisms, providing actionable insights to strengthen Serco’s positioning within this strategic market segment.

Main Responsibilities

Objective:

To conduct a comprehensive desktop market research study identifying potential service contract opportunities within key UN-related and international organizations based in Europe.

Scope of Work:

Target Organizations: Large UN organisations based in Continental Europe countries where Serco is currently present such as:

  • Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) – Vienna, Austria
  • World Trade Organization (WTO) – Geneva, Switzerland
  • International Criminal Court (ICC) – The Hague, Netherlands
  • Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) – Paris, France
  • Bank for International Settlements (BIS) – Basel, Switzerland
  • International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement – Geneva, Switzerland
  • International Olympic Committee (IOC) – Lausanne, Switzerland
  • United Nations Office at Geneva
  • UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) – Geneva
  • World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) - Geneva
  • International Organization for Migration (IOM) – Geneva
  • World Health Organization (WHO) – Geneva
  • UNESCO – Paris

Key Deliverables:

A comprehensive summary paper with conclusions and recommendations

Per organization

  • Organisation profile like goals, priorities, key Investment areas, organizational structure, staff, org charts, budget/funding, locations, etc
  • A structured database of current and upcoming service contract opportunities (e.g., consulting, logistics, IT, facility management, etc.)
  • Note: can start by using our sector value proposition
  • Profiles of procurement portals and tendering processes for each organization
  • Summary of past awarded contracts and key suppliers, including identification of current incumbents
  • Recommendations for positioning and engagement strategies

Research Activities:

  • Desktop research using official websites, procurement portals, and public tender databases
  • Analysis of procurement trends and budget allocations
  • Monitoring of newsletters, press releases, and annual reports
  • Optional: outreach to procurement contacts for clarification or additional insights

Successful Candidate

Tools & Skills Required:

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Excel or other data management tools
  • Ability to synthesize large volumes of information into actionable insights
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of French or other European languages is a plus
  • Educational background in International Relations, Politics, History and similar programmes is a plus
  • Previous similar experiences is a plus
