We are hiring an IT Expert (ITE) for our prestigious partner DIGIT TM (DG Informatics) in Brussels. DIGIT-TM is a contract from the European Commission for IT services across Europe.

Main Responsibilities

As IT Expert (ITE) you will be responsible for:
- Creating designs and blueprints of Cloud Architecture, in particular in the context of Data Platforms for Azure and AWS.
- Review of IT projects for compliance with the cloud strategy of the European Commission.
- Review of the architecture of existing systems to migrate of existing system in the cloud.
- Validation of security procedures around cloud systems, with a particular focus on encryption.
- Documentation and presentation of lessons learned from different cloud services and architectural patterns to technical teams in the European institutions.

Successful Candidate
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
The following skills and knowledge are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:
- Very good knowledge of AWS KMS and Azure KeyVault
- Very good knowledge of Data and AI services across both Microsoft (Azure and Power BI) and AWS (at least some services in each provider).
- Very good knowledge of IaaS and PaaS architectures.
- Good knowledge in establishing and managing deployment pipelines and release management
- Good knowledge in at least a programming language fit for serverless development (Python, C#, Go, Java etc.)
- Ability to give technical presentations
- Ability to apply high quality standards
- Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in cloud migrations
- Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences, in English
- Analysis and problem-solving skills
- Capability to write clear and structured technical documents, in English
- Ability to participate in technical meetings and good communication skills
Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:
- Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team;
- Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects;
- Excellent Team Player
- High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the architect will have elevated privileges to the entire public cloud infrastructure of the European Commission.
SPECIFIC EXPERTISE
Following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of tasks:
- 2 years in working for Cloud Centres of Excellence or similar Cloud Governance structures
CERTIFICATIONS & STANDARDS
- Foundational certifications on both Azure and AWS.
- Associate-level certifications are desired, but not a minimum requirement.
