Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an IT Desktop Support on our prestige customer site in central Frankfurt, Germany.
Main Responsibilities
Specific Tasks and Responsibilities
* Investigation, resolution and escalation of all Incidents at the user’s desktop
* Assist users on the use of advanced features of office automation software
* Installation and replacement of hardware equipment and software in the user's office
* Installation of standard PC configurations (modified configurations, disk-crashes, viruses, etc)
* Periodic upgrades of new software releases (including possible document conversions)
* On-demand installation of additional software
* Cover for IT Service Desk out of normal business hours
* Liaise with third-level support groups when additional support/advise/escalation is required
* Liaise with the Duty Manager and/or nominated third line on-call support staff whenever operational issues are detected out of business hours
* Manage Major Incidents following a dedicated sub-process
* Support all ITIL processes, in particular the Problem, Change, Configuration, and Continual Improvement processes
* Perform operational acceptance of completed projects when transferred into operations
* Provide management information and recommendations for service improvement
Successful Candidate
Knowledge and skills:
* Excellent knowledge of the latest Microsoft client operating system (XP/7) and software distribution via SCCM
* Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 2002, and 2010 products including outlook and IE
* Knowledge of Microsoft Back Office products including Exchange, SCCM, LDAP, etc would be an advantage.
* Knowledge of Tivoli Storage Management backup software would be an advantage
* Positive attitude, ready to help all end-users with their issues
* Strong interpersonal skills, customer orientation, self-motivation, and the ability to work in a small team are very important
