Main Responsibilities
The Fundamental Physics Scientist duties will be:
- Support monitoring contracts with industry and scientific institutions for studies on the application of GNSS in Fundamental physics
- Support generating technical requirements and statements of work for scientific studies in the area of Fundamental Physics and GNSS
- Review scientific results in the field of GNSS applied Fundamental physics
- Monitor applicable scientific and technological trends, maintaining state-of-the-art expertise
- Contribute to the dissemination of the results of the activities performed and the transfer of knowledge across the Agency.
Technical competencies
- PhD in Fundamental Physics, Astronomy or Cosmology
- Experience in applied physics in Fundamental Physics
- Sound knowledge of the following areas:
- General relativity and alternative theories
- Clocks (metrology) applied in Fundamental physics (gravitational effects and relativistic reference frames)
- Knowledge of astronomy and cosmology.
- Knowledge of the application of the Global Navigation Satellite Systems for scientific applications
- Navigation signals
- Satellite clocks
- GNSS Data and products
- Knowledge of space technology for fundamental physics applications
- Knowledge of ESA
