As subcontractor, Serco Italia S.p.A. is currently looking for an EU Institutions: Drupal Full-Stack Developer to join our great team in Ispra (VA)!

Main Responsibilities

As EU Institutions: Drupal Full-Stack Developer you will be responsible for:

• Management of the CoP-DEMOS web platform, including periodic updates of the CMS and modules as well as security maintenance;
• Maintenance and optimisation of the web platform databases, namely the citizen engagement organisations database, the citizen engagement projects database, the EU makerspaces database, and the resources repository.
• Development of additional content types/databases for different types of data associated to citizen engagement activities. Can include the development of interactive geographical maps.
• Implementation of multilingual functionality on the web platform.
• Ensure that the layout of the web platform complies with the Commission standards.
• Ensure that the web platform is responsive and functions properly in common web browsers.
• Implement a web app with the most relevant features of the web platform.
• Assistance with the identification, reporting and reparation of errors in the web platform.
• Interaction with the business analysts, customer, users, project leaders and the developers

Successful Candidate

Your skills: 

Following skills and knowledge are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:

• Excellent knowledge of Drupal CMS and Drupal theme layer
• Excellent knowledge in building responsive websites using layout grid systems
• Ability to use composer to manage Drupal and all dependencies (modules, themes, libraries)
• Ability to configure Drupal core and modules
• Good knowledge of Drupal security

General skills:

• Ability to apply high quality standards
• Autonomous and rapid self-starting capability
• Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
• Analysis and problem solving skills
• Capability to write clear and structured technical documents
• Ability to participate in technical meetings and good communication skills

Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:

• Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team;
• Ability to participate in multilingual meetings;
• Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects;
• Excellent Team Player
• Ability to understand, speak and write in English (level B2 or higher). Knowledge of Italian will be an advantage;
• High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained in JRC.H.1 contain personal and confidential data

Following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of tasks:

• Excellent knowledge of Drupal 9
• Excellent knowledge of HTML5/XHTML and CSS
• Good knowledge of PHP and PHP frameworks
• Good knowledge of MySQL
• Good knowledge of JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks and libraries namely jQuery and Leaflet
