EGSE Software Engineering

We are proactively looking for an EGSE Software Engineering, based in ESTEC, Noordwijk (Netherlands).

Role Responsibility

The right candidate will be responsible of:

  • Integrating industrial elements in the EGSE reference facility and verifying their functioning in end to end scenarios
  • Developing and performing end to end verification and validation tests (including e.g. populating EGSE reference facility database, developing test procedures).
  • Identifying, isolating and fixing EGSE reference facility software problems
  • Maintaining an EGSE software library/configuration management/lab website
  • Providing technical support to projects on specific issues related to EGSEs and their utilisation (including solving problems).
  • Evaluate needs and generate requirements for enhancements.

  • Maintaining the SCOS based EGSE reference facility by isolating and recovering of Software Problems Reports.

  • Maintaining the existing test suits in line with solved problems and newly integrated systems.

  • Providing supports in the utilisation of the EGSE reference facility including configuring it for specific needs, supporting the integration of external systems.

  • Ensuring the capability of the EGSE software to be demonstrated to potential users, including developing demonstration scenarios. Additional services include support to specific projects. They will be specified as required.

Successful Candidate

The ideal candidate should have:

•Relevant experience of SCOS 2000 software preferably in an EGSE context.

•A Master degree or equivalent qualification in in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline;

• Knowledge of modern software engineering practices and standards applied to real-time systems

• Software practical experience, real-time software, Object Oriented design methods, databases, compilers, UML, XML, Corba , Linux, Windows and programming languages such as  C, C++, Tcl/Tk, Java.
