We are hiring a Business Analyst for our prestigious partner DIGIT TM (DG Informatics) in Brussels. DIGIT-TM is a contract from the European Commission for IT services across Europe.

Role Responsibility

Tasks
The main priorities and tasks for the next months of this contract are:
1. User Needs Identification & User Acceptance Testing (UAT): to support all activities with
regards to evaluating the user needs, anticipating requirements, and performing user
acceptance testing. The main activities – non-exhaustive – are:
a. To set up and lead processes related to user acceptance testing. As part of this process, to
perform UAT by regularly evaluating the Portal’s compliance with the business needs and
technical/functional requirements, and verify whether it meets the required criteria for delivery to the end users.
b. To develop specific test cases with users in order to simulate and test user journeys, and
collect user feedback through interactive workshops, face-to-face discussions, surveys, or
other instruments.
c. To produce reports on the UAT findings and propose concrete plans for the Portal’s
optimisation (e.g. design, functionalities, standards for applications, etc.).
d. Where required, support the design of wireframes for specific user journeys.

2. Act as a liaison (business versus development): to work as a key interface between the users, the Project Manager and the solution provider’s development team (DIGIT). The Contractor will in particular be asked to closely collaborate with the solution provider during the development and testing phase by verifying milestones, following-up progress and by translating information from the business (e.g. user needs, UAT findings, defects, etc.) to ensure that the Portal’s architecture and functionalities match the business requirements.

3. User Interface of the Portal in SPO: to support all activities with regards to optimising the user journey and user interface of the Portal, ensuring that every page and every step a user will experience in their interaction with the Portal will be compliant to the user needs and overall vision of the Portal. Based on the outcomes of the UAT, the Contractor will be asked to improve the user’s experience on the Portal, by re-organising, re-clustering and visually improving (e.g. graphic user interface elements such as menu, tabs, widgets) the content offering and structure of the Portal.

4. Design and configuration of the Portal: where feasible, to support the solution provider’s
development team with the design and configuration of the Portal’s webpage in M365 SharePoint Online.

Successful Candidate

Education and technical expertise
• Minimum 15 years of relevant studies and experience after the secondary school
• Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
• Technically competent in the area of modelling and design, especially related to business processes pertaining to Knowledge Management
• Technically competent in the area of Quality Management, especially related to user acceptance testing, understanding user expectations, developing quality control processes, etc.
• In-depth knowledge of IT and computer science principles
• In-depth knowledge of M365 SharePoint Online
• Strong expertise on Knowledge and Document management platforms and Commission platforms
• Excellent knowledge of business analysis processes, user requirements, functional and technical specifications
• Knowledge of data warehousing, SQL knowledge, data visualisation
• Ability to work with a high degree of rigor and method
• Ability to work in a team
• Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application developments

Due to the particular nature of a large international organization such as the European Commission, the candidate should also have the following non-technical skills:
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, on large projects
• Ability to participate in multilingual meetings
• Ability to present findings and recommendations to different stakeholders
• Experience in project management

Specific expertise
• Strong capability to link business needs and technology
• Hands-on experience with M365 SharePoint Online
• Expertise in analysis of business processes and organizational structures pertaining to Knowledge Management, Document Management, as well as Knowledge Repository
• Experience with developing User Interface (UI) mockups and prototypes
• Experience with data transformation techniques and tools, and with working with datasets
• Experience with creating documents such as use case and business requirement documents, as well as user acceptance testing documents
• Experience with managing Country Knowledge (country-specific and regional data, information and knowledge) is an asset

Languages
• Fluency in English.
• Documents will be written in English.
