We are hiring an Application Architect for our prestigious partner DIGIT TM (DG Informatics) in Brussels. DIGIT-TM is a contract from the European Commission for IT services across Europe.

Main Responsibilities
NATURE OF THE TASKS
Architecture and design of the interfaces between information systems
Analysis of the integration of different information systems
Java enterprise development
Data analysis and data modelling
Analysis of document management problems
Coordination of the implementation of the technical architecture
Technical interface between the project leaders and the developers
Technical interface between the “Document Management Officers” and the developers
Production of software architecture documents
Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users
Technical analysis of complex production problems (supporting the level 3 helpdesk)
Assistance during relevant parts of testing, analysis, technical documentation, deployment, evaluation and reporting.
Successful Candidate
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL
Good knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture
Broad understanding of a microservices type architecture
Good knowledge of applications design
Good knowledge of Java Enterprise development
Good knowledge of modelling tools
Good knowledge of Enterprise Architecture
Good knowledge of Relational DBMS
Good knowledge of business process analysis
Knowledge of interoperability technology (e.g. web services, message oriented middleware, service oriented bus)
Good redaction skills
Ability to give technical presentations
Ability to apply high quality standards
Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application architecture and design
Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, good communication skills
Team player.
The following technical skills would be a plus:
Knowledge of document management best practices especially within European institutions
Familiar/experienced with ARES document archival System used at the European Commission.
