Job Introduction
We are hiring an Application Developer, who will join the team responsible for the development, maintenance and support of the information systems. You will be mainly in charge of the architecture, design, development, maintenance of it.

Main Responsibilities
- Architecture and design of new information systems
- Review of the architecture of existing systems
- Design of component architecture and building blocks
- Analysis of the integration of different information systems
- Development and maintenance of software applications and components
- Data analysis and data modelling
- Coordination of the implementation of the technical architecture
- Technical interface between the project leaders and the analysts
- Production of software documentation
- Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users
- Assistance in the testing, the deployment, the evaluation and the reporting
- Implementation of the security measures as prescribed by the Security Implementation Plans
Successful Candidate
REQUIRED EXPERTISE
- Good knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture
- Knowledge of interoperability technology (e.g. web services, message oriented middleware, service oriented bus)
- Proven experience with web services (SOAP and REST)
- Good knowledge of applications design
- Good knowledge of modelling tools
- Good knowledge of Object Oriented Programming languages
- Good knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems
- Good knowledge and proven experience with Oracle SQL
- Good knowledge and proven experience with of XML and XSD
- Good knowledge and proven experience with Java EE technologies
- Good knowledge and proven experience with the Spring Framework
- Good knowledge and proven experience with the Hibernate Framework
- Familiar with front end frameworks and libraries (e.g. Angular 4+)
- Good knowledge and proven experience with continuous integration tools (e.g. Maven, Jenkins, Bamboo, Fisheye, Crucible, JUnit)
- Good knowledge of Secure Coding Standards
- Proven experience with Code Quality and Security Analysis tools (SonarQube…)
- Proven experience in Agile development methodologies (such as SCRUM, Kanban)
- Fluent in English
ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERTISE
The following knowledge and skills are considered advantages:
- Good knowledge of the European Commission's eUI front-end framework
- Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence
- Good knowledge of Unified Modelling Language
- Familiarity with Commission methodologies and supporting tools such as PM², BPM@EC and Agile@EC
- Ability to combine several tasks
- Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application architecture and design
- Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, good communication skills.
- Capability of integration in an international/multi-cultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in team working.
