We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic AV&C Installation Technician Junior​ to join our team in Brussels Office. 

Main Responsibilities

The AV&C Permanent Installation technician will be assigned to install/assist/verify projects/activities in the different buildings of the European Commission and will assist the project team in their daily work.

The AV&C Permanent Installation technician) can be involved in the treatment of AV issues and incidents, assisting Commission conference building technicians. A ticketing service can be used to monitor issues and solutions.

All technical tasks need to follow the quality requirements set out in the quality requirements referenced in the framework contract (Blue Book).

A non-exhaustive list of tasks that could also be asked:

  • Installation of audio-visual systems
  • Dismantling of audio-visual equipment
  • Configuration of audio-visual systems
  • Technical assistance in a meeting or conference room in the building
  • Technical assistance in a meeting or conference room outside of the Commission buildings
  • Cabling and welding works
  • Adjustment of AV material with electronic measuring devices
  • (Dis)Assembly of one or more AV components
  • Performing backups of the configuration files of AV devices
  • Performing pre-sets and verifying configurations of different AV&C equipment
  • Participating to coordination meetings to help organising events with special requirements
  • Using the SMT ticketing system to report about technical issues and solutions

Job Description (General) 

  • Work in a project based context together with other colleagues
  • Ability to self-organise and prioritise activities
  • Install, connect and configure complete technical installations of audio/visual systems1
  • Update technical documentation related to the AV installation Cabling works
  • Assistance and support in relation to audio-visual and conference installations

Successful Candidate

Knowledge and skills :

  • Able to speak, read and write in English or French.
  • Trained and qualified/certified to operate and configure audio-visual equipment2
  • Knowledge about conference systems (Bosch and/or Televic is preferred)
  • Knowledge about A/V cabling and connectors
  • Knowledge of Visio or AutoCAD to create/update technical drawings
  • Basic knowledge about electricity and network
  • Basic knowledge about audio/video over IP
  • Knowledge on setting-up and configuring AV equipment
  • Knowledge of room automation/control systems (AMX/Crestron/Extron) is an asset
  • Good understanding of A/V schematics
  • Ability to climb ladders and lift a maximum of 20 Kg
  • Punctual, dynamic, impartial and flexible
  • Team player
  • Problem solver

Experience 

  • 5 years’ experience OR an electronica degree OR a CTS (or similar) certificate
  • Experience in working in a EU institution or similar environments
