Earth Observation Promotion and Networking Junior Assistant

Role Responsibility

The candidate will contribute to the awareness of Earth Observation products, tools and services amongst different user communities by supporting promotion and training related activities in the context of an already committed training and outreach planning of events.

For the outreach and promotion, the candidate will support the following tasks:

  • Preparation and dissemination of Earth Observation promotion material in various format and via various communication channels;
  • Support to outreach actions to promote training events (flyers, mailing, announcements on training website and social media, etc.);

For the end to end organisation of training courses, the candidate will handle the following tasks:

  • Support the setting up and management of training events (e.g. support to selection of course participants, agreements with customer, etc.);
  • Support to training course organization, i.e. maintenance of action lists, handle course logistics and networking activities;
  • Maintain daily contacts with external to ESA EO users, through existing databases, dedicated web sites and social media;
  • Support in the preparation of training materials for the course (e.g. editing presentations, webinars, video tutorials, etc.).

The candidate will work in a team of experts and will often travel.

Successful Candidate

The successful applicants should have a University Bachelor’s degree and a background in similar task. They should demonstrate ability to networking and attitude to external relations.

For these activities, the candidate should be proficient in both English and French, and presents the following qualifications:

  • Experience with end-user documentation at various technical levels;
  • Proofreading skills;
  • Experience in event organisation following existing procedures;
  • Experience and strong interest in networking in various languages;
  • Precision and professionalism.

Other skills:

  • Ability to manage several tasks in parallel and to prioritise;
  • Capability to work in a team;
  • Pro-active approach to problem identification and resolution;
  • Knowledge of additional languages is an asset;
  • Good knowledge of MS Office.
