Role Responsibility


The post holder will manage projects in the context of Earth Observation, in a dynamic and international environment  in particular S/he should be able to do:

• Technical coordination of  Data Processing projects  including the following activities:
o Operational  Technical support  - for EO data processing. 
o  Anomaly management and resolution.
o Technical coordination ( day to day management).
o Team / sub-contractor management.
o Schedule and cost management and coordination.
• Put in place all proactivity measure to ensure smooth service execution, showing to work towards the objectives of the activity and not simply to the letter of the contract.
• Establish and maintain the required interfaces with Customer , Consortium partners and third party Providers.
• Instantiate/Update the Project Management Plan.
• Ensure generation of the documented Operational Procedures for the Service.
• Collect all inputs and prepare the Project Reports.
• Prepare, schedule, organise and execute the Project Meetings and Reviews.
• Handle any Specific Project Anomaly and/or deviation, interfacing with Customer.
• Management and Execution of the Risk Management Process.
• Ensure the timely production and delivery of all project deliverables.
o Coordinate the deliverables preparation and delivery.
o Ensure conformance to Customer deliverables procedures.
o Manage/coordinate the review and acceptance of the deliverables.
• Prepare and conduct a final presentation of the project.
• Ensure clean closure of the project.

Successful Candidate

PREREQUISITES:
• Good Knowledge of Payload Data Ground Segments 
• Have at least 5 years’ experience in working in similar environments.
• Have collaborated with ESA (worked in projects with ESA)
• Possess excellent communication skills

Important value added are considered:
• Scientific background in at least one of the EO missions
• Understanding of Earth Observation data products
• Understanding in Earth Observation production chain

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 
In addition, the candidate shall have:
• Very good customer liaison capability
• Proactive approach to problem identification and resolution
• Teamwork / team-player spirit 
• Be able to coordinate and manage international teams C50
• Take full responsibility for the successful conclusion of the projects
• Have a dynamic outlook and be success oriented
• Candidates should be fluent in English and have good writing and communication skills
• Availability to travel within Europe to attend meetings

• Applicants must hold the correct documentation and permits to work in Italy
