Job Introduction

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit three UNIX Infrastructure Senior Engineers on our prestige customer site in central Frankfurt, Germany.

Role Responsibility

  • Participate in the design and testing of the customer’s standard releases based on Oracle Solaris and Red Hat Enterprise Linux for physical and virtual platforms.
  • Configuration of management products such as Red Hat Satellite, Oracle OpsCenter, and other orchestration and automation technologies for the deployment of new instances based on new standard OS releases and for the upgrade of existing running instances to the latest standards, and handover of tools and procedures to the System Operations Team.
  • Coordination of the periodic vulnerability patching activities.

Successful Candidate

The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Education and qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in information technology, computer science, information system security, or related disciplines
  • Engineering and design experience
  • Experience  in  the  design  and  implementation  of  complex  Oracle  Solaris  and  Red  Hat  Linux infrastructures including  IT management  components  for the automated administration of  UNIX instances during their lifecycle (deployment, continued compliance, retirement)
  • In depth knowledge of and experience with Oracle Solaris 10 and higher, Sun Cluster
  • A good command of English with proven drafting ability
  • Working experience in an international organisation.
  • Experience with VMware vSphere 5.1 and higher.
  • Experience  with  Oracle  SPARC,  HP  and  possibly  Cisco  server  hardware  and  related
  • management tools
  • Experience  working  in  a  mature  IT  environment  with  established  IT  Service  Management processes.

  • Manages  multiple  assignments,  tracks  and  reports  progress  on  numerous  processes simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation and the ability to work in a team
