We are hiring an Test Automation Specialist (TEAS) for our prestigious partner DIGIT TM (DG Informatics) in Brussels. DIGIT-TM is a contract from the European Commission for IT services across Europe.

Role Responsibility

As Test Automation Specialist (TEAS) you will be responsible for:

Following tasks will be performed by external service provider:

  • Design, prepare and monitor automated tests.
  • Contribute to the development of a plan to integrate automated testing within the testing process.
  • Evaluate tools and technology for automation best fit to the project within the DevSecOps approach.
  • Create an approach and methodology for building a test automation architecture.
  • Design and develop (new or modified) test automation solutions that meet the business needs.
  • Enable the transition of testing from a manual to an automated approach
  • Create automated test reporting and metrics collection.
  • Identify and elaborate test cases in collaboration with application developers, analysts and business representatives and support to the construction of test scenarios and scripts.
  • Advice on test automation strategy and identification of regression tests including maintenance of test script repositories for updates to existing software.
  • Advice on quality improvements.

Successful Candidate

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

  • Bachelor degree of 3 years.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Following skills and knowledge are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:

  • Knowledge of test automation technologies, tools and techniques.
  • Hands-on experience in the creation of test automation solutions.
  • Knowledge of Test Management and Defect Tracking tools.
  • Experience in the test data management.
  • Good knowledge of IS quality assurance and quality control practices.
  • Good experience with quality procedures.
  • Good knowledge of the CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration).
  • Experience of Planning and Defect management is required.
  • Understanding of TMAP methodology.
  • Good knowledge of software testing management.
  • Good knowledge of Enterprise Application Integration.
  • Experience in testing information systems business processes (finance, procurements and accounting) in public institutions.
  • Excellent knowledge of test automation strategies and test automation tools (RFT, Selenium, WebDriver, SOAPUI, jUnit).
  • Experience in the development of automation tools using Java and Java EE as programming language and automation of web interfaces build using Rich technologies (Vaadin, JQuery …).
  • Being able to understand well requirements analysis and application for web applications and web services (UML).
  • Understanding of relational databases (Oracle) and service testing using SOAPUI (WSDL, XSD understanding).
  • Knowledge in Big Data technologies, Business Intelligence matters, Database Mining systems would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Python test automation.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g. RUP, Agile).
  • Ability to apply high quality standards.
  • Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Capability to write clear and structured technical documents.

Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:

  • Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capabilityand experience in working in team;
  • Ability to participate in multilingual meetings;
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects;
  • Excellent Team Player;
  • Ability to understand, speak and write English C1, French B2+ will be an advantage;
  • High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained inRTD.H.DEP.IT contain personal and confidential data.

  • Experience in the development of automation tools using Java and Java EE as programming language and automation of web interfaces build using Rich technologies (Vaadin).
