We are hiring a Technology Expert for e-Experts Management System  for our prestigious partner DIGIT TM (DG Informatics) in Brussels. DIGIT-TM is a contract from the European Commission for IT services across Europe.

Role Responsibility

DESCRIPTION OF TASKS

The person who will fill in the position will work inside an agile development team (with
analysts and java developers) and with other development teams. The main tasks related to
this position are the following:
 Architecture, technical analysis, design, development and testing of applications that follow the reference architecture rules and accurately implement the specifications received in the functional analysis provided by the business/functional analysts of the team.
 Analysis and design of the integration of different information systems.
 Analysis, design and implementations of services and components in a service oriented architecture.
 Provision of technical expertise, feasibility/risk/impact analysis and evaluations in relation with information systems.
 Provision of security assessments and solutions associated with information systems.
 Review, evaluate and test applications or (also third party) components to ensure integration with the other application components, and compliance with the requirements and standards.
 Depending on the circumstances, the expert may be requested to provide assistance or support in the resolution of production issues.
 Documentation of the technical implementations and the components.

Successful Candidate

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS

Knowledge and skills
 Large experience with software architecture, design and development good practices.
 Experience in JAVA (JEE) technology (full stack), J2EE 8 environment and standards, EJB3, Spring, Angular, JavaScript, JQuery, html, CSS.
 Experienced with WS SOAP development on Oracle Web Logic application server and with Oracle middleware products (SOA Suite).
 Experienced with these standards/APIs: XSD, SOAP, JAX-WS, JAXB (possibly also JAX-RPC).
 Good knowledge of relational databases management (Oracle, SQL, …).
 Experience with Message Oriented Middleware/Enterprise Service Bus technologies.
 Experience with micro services and RESTful paradigms.
 Experience with modern UI paradigms (client-side scripting).
 Experience in object oriented design and development, reusable components design and development, UML.
 Experience with unit and integration testing and automatic testing frameworks (jUnit, TestNG, Protractor), as well as CI/CD and integration tools like Jenkins, Sonar.
 Practical experienced with Eclipse/Workshop 10.3, Ant or Maven, SoapUI.
 Experience working in a team applying agile practices and principles.
 Application of high quality standards.
 Good reporting (feasibility/risk/impact analysis, estimations, progress, technical advice …) and communication skills.
 Capability of integration in a multi-cultural environment, rapid self-starter; autonomous as well as team player.
 Fluency (written and oral) in English; ability to actively participate in conversations and meetings, and write and read documents in English.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / WORK PLACE
The tasks shall be performed on the Commission premises in Brussels.
The infrastructure will be provided by the Commission.
Subject to the agreement of the Commission, the service provider might be authorised to
perform the tasks remotely (teleworking) up to 2 days per week in close vicinity to the
Commission premises in Brussels.
The line manager will assess whether the service provider is at a distance compatible with the
tasks, based on the needs of the service.
Temporary allocation as PPW profile for receiving hands on mentoring and full integration
into the team.
