We are hiring a Technology Expert for our prestigious partner DIGIT TM (DG Informatics) in Brussels. DIGIT-TM is a contract from the European Commission for IT services across Europe.

Role Responsibility

DESCRIPTION OF TASKS
The successful candidate will provide architecture services for the projects developed by
DIGIT.B4.
The candidate will contribute to the activities listed below (non-exhaustive list):
• Design and architect applications
• Lead and contribute to the development of applications (angular front-end, java backends)
• Design and architect 3-tier applications, microservices, or cloud-native applications
• Design and architect with security and data protection in mind
• Design and develop APIs, system integrations
• Maintain code integrity and organisation
• Write clean code
• Promote good testing practices
• Troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.
• Meet both technical and business needs
• Write technical documentation
The technology environment chosen is as follows:
• The development is adhering to the European Commission reference architecture based on Java (JEE or Spring Boot) and Angular.
• Interoperability is achieved with RESTful APIs, Kafka and an API Gateway, or is based on SOA principles and an Enterprise Service Bus.
• The data is typically stored in an Oracle Database 11G/12C.
• The development is based on an agile methodology and the Jira/Confluence ecosystem.

Successful Candidate

EXPERIENCE
• The experience stated in the framework contract for the requested profile.
• Practical experience proving the capability to execute the tasks described in the above
description of tasks.
• Good knowledge of English (spoken, written)
• Rapid self-starting capability and experience in team working.
• Proactive attitude, communicative, good listener and customer-oriented.
• Expert knowledge of 3-tier and microservices architectures
• Expert knowledge of best practices for cloud-native or container-based applications
• Proficiency with back-end languages and frameworks such as Java, JEE, Spring boot and Hibernate
• Proficiency in web services, SOAP and RESTful API.
• Proficiency in HTML5, JavaScript, ES6, CSS3 and SASS.
• Proficiency in Angular (latest versions, build and automation tools) and Typescript.
• Good knowledge in client-side development of complex applications involving multi module, Web Components
• Experience in Web security, authentication, and authorization protocols (OAuth, Open
ID Connect)
• Experience in Redux architecture is a plus
• Familiarity with database technology such as Oracle, MongoDB
• Knowledge of code versioning tools such as Git or SVN.
• Experience with the following tools: Git, JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, Nexus, Crucible, Jenkins, and Work environment/conditions
The work will be carried out on a full-time basis at the Commission’s premises in Brussels. The service providers will have frequent meetings in the Commission's services in Brussels and occasional meetings in the Commission’s premises in Luxembourg.
The working languages are both English and French
