We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Technology Expert, based in Brussels.
The key person will be responsible for:
Analysis of user requirements and modelling of new information systems;
High-level and low-level design of applications
Production of technical documentation;
Assistance with deployment and configuration of the systems;
Development of proofs of concepts;
Design the developments of applications that reflect the business specifications;
Design the integration of multiple information systems or modules into corporate solutions – if possible;
The key person should have:
Knowledge of the design and development of web applications;
Knowledge of web technologies and standards (e.g. HTML5, XML);
Good command of coding best practices, software design and architecture patterns;
Knowledge of interoperability technology (e.g. web services, message oriented middleware, service oriented bus)
Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment;
Ability communicate clearly in English or French with stakeholders (business and IT) both verbally and in writing;
Rapid self-starting capability, self-driven and can-do attitude;
Experience and willingness in working in team settings;
Ability to contribute in multilingual meetings;
Ability to work with a high degree of rigour and method and, more specifically, to follow working standards set by the team and by the EC;
Delivering high quality and clean work;
As the applications managed and maintained in DIGIT contain personal and confidential data, a high degree of discretion and integrity is required from all our staff members.
Expertise in Java-related technologies, including J2EE, JSP, JDBC, Log4J, XML/XSL/XSLT, XQuery, XPath and Oracle WebLogic
Experience in service-oriented architecture and web services: RESTful API, SOAP, WSDL, JAX-WS, JAX-RS, Oracle Service Bus, YAML;
Good knowledge of Spring Framework and aspect oriented programming;
Good knowledge of relational database management systems Oracle SQL, PL/SQL; Desirable:
Affinity with cloud computing and IT security;
Having experience with ECAS (European Commission Authentication Service) would be an advantage;
