Role Responsibility

As Technical Writer – Space you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting individual bid teams in the production of winning responses;
  • Owning the creation of compelling responses:
    • Developing some core elements of solutions independently;
    • Working with Subject Matter Experts to secure more complicated technical inputs as relevant;
  • Working with technical and commercial colleagues to ‘interpret’ technical/financial solutions, ensuring these are reflected accurately in the written response;
  • Creating high-quality responses that are well-written, accurate and concise, as well as working with the graphic design team to produce visually-engaging documents;
  • Incorporate win themes, unique selling points, case studies and ‘hot button’ material into responses, with the objective of scoring maximum points against the customer’s evaluation criteria;
  • Conduct research to supplement bid responses, including collation and presentation of data to support governance meetings where required;
  • Support Bid Managers and wider bid teams with ad hoc tasks as required.

In return, we offer a friendly, supportive and professional environment that respects your work/life balance and ultimately contributes to the delivery of public services in Belgium and around the world.

Successful Candidate

We are looking for a proactive individual with a demonstrable commitment to personal/professional development and a passion for bidding.  Candidates must have a strong engineering/aerospace background and experience of working in the public sector bidding environment (at least five years). Moreover, we would like to see:

  • Ability to develop baseline solutions/concepts, particularly in relation to Earth Observation systems, and incorporate more complex inputs from others;
  • Ability to deliver high-quality written work that is technically accurate, compliant and complete – often under the pressure of tight deadlines;
  • Understanding of how to apply collateral where relevant, tailoring existing material to new proposals;
  • Ability to grasp and assimilate complex information quickly and apply creative intellect;
  • Excellent understanding of the existing and developing Space sector – technology, innovation, key players etc.
  • Methodical, process-driven and organised approach with excellent attention to detail;
  • Experience of template creation and document manipulation (preferred);
  • Highly-competent with MS Office software;
  • Excellent communication skills, including relationship development and stakeholder management;
  • Confident, persuasive and articulate communication;
  • Excellent command of at least two of the following languages: English, French, Italian, German;
  • Degree or qualification in Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent knowledge in Remote Sensing or Earth Observation
