Technical Team Coordinator (2254)

Role Responsibility

For our client, the European Commission, we are seeking a Technical Team Coordinator to support our team in Brussels.

The Technical Team Coordinator will work with the development team  providing assistance, coordination and expert advice on all technical matters related to JEE technology for web applications, Oracle and Weblogic. The Technical Team Coordinator might also be requested to  provide a reference implementation.

The candidate should have proven experience in:

Methodologies:

  • Use and enforce Software Development methodologies.
  • Design / Architecture:
  • Study architectural alternatives and improved solutions for the new developments, including the search for new technologies.
  • Elaborate feasibility studies focused upon infrastructure components focused on the web-application and DB side).
  • Provide technical evaluations in relation with information systems infrastructure
  • Implement distributed systems (SOA, web-services, REST, MOM)
  • Architect distributed applications

Testing and Deployment:

  • Monitor performance of application with profiling
  • Study and implement application technical upgrades
  • Provide expertise in organising and implementing deployment studies as well as stress tests for meeting the IS hosting requirements.
  • Design automatic testing and implement continuous integration
  • Systems integration testing

Security:

  • Implement digital certificates and digital signatures.

Successful Candidate

Education:

  • At least 14 years of relevant professional experience (including 4 years of successful university studies), 10 of which should be specific to the domain of this role.

Technical skills:

Methodologies:

  • RUP for Software Development.
  • Tools supporting methodologies: Atlassian Jira and SVN.

Design / Architecture / Technologies:

  • In depth knowledge of JEE
  • Very good knowledge of Oracle
  • Relational database management systems is required (store procedure,schemas)
  • Knowledge of interoperability technology (e.g. web services, message oriented middleware, service oriented bus)
  • Service-Oriented Architecture (web-services in particular)
  • Distributed Architecture
  • Architecture market trends / standards
  • Design patterns
  • Multi-lingual applications

Testing:

  • SOAP UI, Hermes JMS
  • Automated testing with Selenium

Security:

  • Knowledge of PKI
  • CAS for Authentication

Additional skills:

  • English (spoken) and good technical redaction skills in English.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Capability of working in an international/ multicultural environment
  • Technical leader: identifying tasks, assigning to and follow them up with the developers

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS

A normal working day corresponds to 8 hours per day (40 hours per week) and the daily working time frame is between 8 am and 8 pm. Presence is normally required between 9:30 and 12:00 and between 3:00 pm and 4:30 pm (4:00 pm on Friday).

The candidate might be requested to participate in missions outside Belgium.
