We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic System Architect Engineer to join our Italian Office in Rome. Join a ground-breaking European project at the forefront of satellite technology and climate research.

Main Responsibilities

We are looking for a System Architect to lead the design and evolution of a platform architecture. This high-impact role requires a deep understanding of complex systems, expertise in cloud technologies, and the ability to translate business goals into cutting-edge, scalable solutions.

As System Architect Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Architectural Vision & Strategy: Define and drive the overarching architectural vision, setting the technology roadmap for a core platform.
  • Scalable & Secure Design: Engineer highly scalable, secure, and high-performance platform solutions.
  • Technology Leadership: Lead the evaluation, selection, and integration of emerging technologies and frameworks.
  • Business & Technology Alignment: Ensure architectural decisions align with strategic business objectives, balancing innovation with operational efficiency.
  • Risk & Compliance Management: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate technical and security risks.
  • Innovation & Best Practices: Champion modern engineering practices, driving continuous innovation and industry-leading methodologies.

Successful Candidate

Your skills:

  •  Education: Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: background in architecting and implementing complex platforms.
  • Cloud Expertise: Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Architectural Frameworks & Methods: Proficiency in industry-standard architectural methodologies such as TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework).
  • Technical Mastery: Strong experience with microservices architecture, containerization, and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to influence stakeholders, mentor teams, and drive technology transformation.
  • Track Record: Demonstrated success in leading digital transformation initiatives.

Other skills:

  • Experience in Agile/DevOps environments.
  • Understanding of Big Data and analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of event-driven architectures and API management.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

Relocation :

Rome's central location in Italy offers excellent transportation links within the city and across the country. The city is well-connected by a network of highways and railways, with Ciampino Airport or Fiumicino, providing convenient access to international destinations.
