Main Responsibilities

We are looking for a System Administrator level 5 who will join our team at one of the prestigious customers in Brussels.

 

  • Work in close cooperation with project managers within IT Unit users to analyse needs in terms of Data Centre/Infrastructure and help implement the changes, manage the change control procedure;
  • Performs 2nd level support;
  • Installation and configuration of system components and server software. Scripting & configurations in context of systems & infrastructure;
  • Operating and monitoring of infrastructure, systems, servers;
  • Performs configuration management tasks & procedures;
  • Incident handling, problem handling: analysis and resolution, problem definition, analysis and resolution: preliminary diagnosis of software and hardware problems, co-ordination with the central IT departments;
  • Advise in areas such as capacity management, contingency planning, IT service continuity management, automation of repetitive tasks, security;
  • Support actively the yearly review of the hosting needs of WAVE and the management of the software and hardware assets hosted at Data Centre. Coordinate with database management teams;
  • Participate in defining and documenting configuration of systems & infrastructure;
  • Participate in defining and documenting operational procedures;
  • Draft technical content for knowledge base for use of upstream support teams;
  • Evaluation and implementation of security standards;
  • Participation in coordination and project meetings;
  • Manage configuration / deployment / migration planning's – activities tracking against the plan and provide regular feedback and accurate reporting;
  • Follow-up of the related communication via the specific functional mailboxes and SMT incident and ensure that various requests or escalation made by users are treated in due time;
  • The consultant will report to the WAVE Project Manager.

Successful Candidate

  • Proven knowledge in Incident analysis and resolution, problem definition, analysis and resolution as well as tools used in the scope of these activities, such as SMT, RTC, etc;
  • Excellent knowledge of software deployment management;
  • Excellent knowledge of software release management;
  • Knowledge of application servers;
  • Knowledge of building and deployment tools (Jenkins, Maven, Weblogic, Bamboo);
  • Good knowledge of modelling tools (e.g. UML);
  • Good knowledge of ITIL; Good knowledge in Project management;
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills;
  • Capability of integration in an international/multi-cultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team;
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g. RUP, AGILE) is an asset;

Languages and years of experience:

  • Fluent English, French would be an asset
  • min. years of experience - 14/ or 10 years of experience plus MA degree in IT
