Support Engineer to Operations

Role Responsibility

For our activities in Serco Office in Frascati, we are currently looking for a Support Engineer to Operations.

The main activities will include:

  • Support the overall end-to-end processes for ESA Live Missions, ESA Heritage Missions, ESA Third Party Missions
  • Support to  PDGS components Transfer To Operations activities
  • Incident/Problem Management
  • Change/Release Management
  • Software Integration validation activities
  • Software Installation and operational verification
  • Data Transformation (i.e. conversion to standard satellite formats)
  • Data Format validation
  • Data Dissemination to end users

Successful Candidate

The ideal Candidate should have the following skills and experience:

• 5 years of experience in programming and scripting
• 2 years of experience in ESA infrastructures


Preferable:
ITIL V3 Certification
English Certification (≥ B1)

Technical skills:
-Good knowledge of PHP and Python programming
-Good knowledge of Java Suite
-Good knowledge of C++ Suite: C++, Boost C++ libraries
-Good knowledge of Linux (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu)
-Good Scripting knowledge (Bash, c-shell ...)
-Good knowledge of Databases: MySQL; ORACLE; PostgreSQL; SQL
-Good Knowledge of ESA ECSS standards
-Basic Project Planning skills
-Good English Technical Writing skills
-Requirements Definition and Analysis

Personal Skills:
-Fluent in English Language (written and spoken)
-Good communications skills
-Capacity of working in team
-Capacity of achieving schedule and milestones
-Capacity of working under pressure
