We are seeking a Software Integration Engineer - Earth Observation Projects to work on our Customers Site (EUMESTAT) in Germany. This is a fantastic opportunity to get into one of the most sought-after space agencies in the world.
Main Responsibilities
We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Integration Engineer with a strong background in Earth observation projects to join our team in Germany. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the integration of software systems in the EO domain, ensuring smooth and efficient data flow from various sources while maintaining high performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test and validate systems solutions for Earth observation data processing and visualisation.
- Integrate and validate APIs and data pipelines to facilitate data ingestion, processing, and distribution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues in a timely manner.
- Conduct system testing and validation to ensure accuracy and quality of integrated software solutions.
- Document integration processes and maintain up-to-date records of system configurations.
- Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in Earth observation and software integration.
Successful Candidate
Do you think you are the person we are looking for? See below what experience or knowledge you should bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in software integration, preferably in Earth observation or remote sensing projects.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and data storage solutions (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
- Familiarity with geospatial data formats and standards (e.g., GeoTIFF, NetCDF).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

About Serco
Serco provides the User Helpdesk and Data Centre Operations Service of the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), which plays a key role in enhancing the use of EUMETSAT data, products and data services.
The main objective of the service is to ensure effective and user-driven service to support the provision of data, both real-time and offline, as well as to provide comprehensive technical information to support all forms of user enquiries relating both to current operational services and to future satellite programmes of EUMETSAT.
