For our activities in ESTEC, we are currently looking for a Software Engineer to support the Energy Storage and Power Laboratories Section.

Role Responsibility

The ideal candidate will concentrate her/his activities on the following:

- Maintain and expand the capabilities of life test software system based on LabVIEW and Lua;

- Maintain and expand the capabilities of life test monitoring software system based on C and Linux scripting;

- Maintain and expand Data processing software based on Lua/ Visual Basic;

- Maintain data archiving;

- Perform and monitor life tests;

- Maintain a comprehensive test data archive which can be accessed by test managers over the network;

- Maintain up to date documentation of in-house built software;

- Assure software quality;

- Software configuration management;

- Preparation of the Investment and Maintenance Plans for Software, servers, workstations, laptops under the responsibility of the Division/Sections;

- Procurement of COTS software, servers, test workstations, laboratory laptops with consultation with the head of division/sections using the agency’s purchasing system;

- Managing software licenses/servers maintenance contracts with outside organizations in consultation with the head of division/sections;

- Support TEC-EP laboratory software packages;

-  Maintain and expand TEC-EP wiki for knowledge management.

Successful Candidate

The ideal candidate should have the following skills/experience:

- Master in Computer Engineering or equivalent university degree from a recognised Institution of secondary studies;

- At least 4 years of relevant experience after studies;

- Experience in testing, scripting (e.g. Lua, Unix Shell Scripts);

- Experience in LabView and C;

- Knowledge of product assurance.
