Sentinel-3 Service Chain Analyst

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Sentinel-3 Service Chain Analyst based at EUMETSAT.

Role Responsibility

The successful candidate will concentrate his/her activities on the following tasks:

  • Monitor the End to End production, Timeliness Processing & Dissemination via monthly KPIs;
  • System level monitoring tools installations and maintenance (Op5, Nagios, GEMS, GSMC);
  • Report in the daily operations meeting for System level monitoring tools;
  • Compile X-Band service statistics & Conduct first level investigations on acquisition and production anomalies, escalate through the established channels;
  • UNS tool installations and maintenance;
  • End User and Partner Scheduled Maintenance Notifications;
  • Maintaining of SCPs, GCPs and SOIs;
  • Provide initial training, continuation and proficiency training to the Controllers and Analysts;
  • Assist and supervise the Controller’s in real-time ground segment operations according to established procedures;
  • Monitor and co-ordinate operations with ESRIN, SALP and other external partners;
  • Incremental updates and development of the S3 Knowledge base as required;
  • Support PDGS OPS Meetings as requested and including: PDGS System OPS ARB; PDGS Joint ARB & PDGS Data Processing ARB;
  • Participate in the on duty analyst rota (On Call);
  • Backup Sentinel-6 Service Chain Analyst.

Successful Candidate

The successful applicant will have a sound knowledge of the Sentinel-3 System and will be certified to carry out shift work if required.

Good knowledge of Sentinel-3 System Operations, especially PDGS is an advantage.

Also, knowledge of EUMETSAT’s Documentation Management Tool and Anomaly Report process would be advantageous.

Additionally, the key person should bring good PC skills, with a good knowledge of the following:

  • Word;
  • Excel and Access.
  • Experience in software coding/ scripting e.g. C++, Unix/Linux.
  • The key person must have good interpersonal skills.
