Role Responsibility

For training activities, we are currently looking for a skilled Remote Sensing Specialist.
The position is for a specialist in EO remote sensing. Main responsibilities are to prepare thematic (land, ocean, ice…) training material focusing on the utilisation of Copernicus Sentinel data (all missions) targeting user communities with different skills in EO, ranging from basic to very advanced. The activities include organisation, set-up and provision of face to face training events and web conferencing. Experience with Copernicus sentinel data is an asset.
You will work in a team of multi – lingual experts. In order to answer to our current customers, we are looking for a candidate fluent in English and French.

Successful Candidate

You will hold an university degree in Physics, Remote Sensing or similar, have an in-depth knowledge of satellite remote sensing (optical and SAR), image analysis, GIS technology and applications and programming. In particular, demonstrated capabilities in EO data processing and applications (specially with Optical/IR) with data science tools and some teaching and communication experience are sought. Proven project management experience will be an asset.
Other skills:

  • Experience in multi-source data integration
  • Experience in scientific and application project management
  • Good documentation writing skills
  • Experience in big data processing, cloud computing, and computer science 
  • Experience with data Science tools (e.g. Python, R, SQL, Matlab, C++)
  • Ability to manage several tasks in parallel and to prioritise 
  • Capability to work in a team
  • Pro-active approach to problem identification and resolution 
  • Fluent in French and English (written and spoken)
  • Knowledge of additional languages is an asset
