Role Responsibility

As Recruiter / Recruitment Consultant - Space Sector you will concentrate your activities on the following:

We have an exciting and rare opportunity for an experienced Recruitment Consultant to support our fast growing space business in Noordwijk Netherlands.

This is a rare opportunity to for a Recruiter who wants to stand out from the crowd – an opportunity to design a Recruitment strategy in your vision, an opportunity to ‘think outside the box’ and drive innovation in order to attract the best industry talent into Serco.

A highly motivated Recruitment professional with ambition to quickly develop into one of the most respected Space Recruiters in the European Space sector.

Working within our European in-house team based in Noordwijk the Recruiter will be responsible for sourcing and selecting candidates for a wide variety of vacancies across our Space contracts in continental Europe, mainly focusing on our operations with different European Space Agency site in Noordwijk, The Netherlands and Madrid, Spain.

In cooperation with the Account/Contract Management Team (and with support from the centralised Recruitment team), the Recruiter would be responsible for the entire recruitment lifecycle.

Main duties include:

  • Support the recruitment effort for multiple projects both in the Technical and Non-Technical arena – specific to the European Space Agency / Related space companies.
  • Actively sourcing candidates; External/Internal Database mining, Advertising & Headhunting.
  • Building Talent Pools;
  • Arranging/Identifying/Participating in Space sector networking events.
  • Arranging/Identifying/Participating in Graduate networking events.
  • Working in alignment to the Account Manager supporting Business Development activity;
  • Advertising through a variety of online Talent attraction sources;
  • Responsible for candidate qualification.
  • Responsible for arranging and performing interviews;
  • Record all information relating to the recruitment process and provide this information on request; update both candidate & customer information and store / maintain template documents;
  • Assisting with general recruitment queries;

Successful Candidate

Do you think you are the person we are looking for? See below what experience or knowledge you should bring:

  • Proven experience of working in an agency environment or in-house recruitment team – specific to the Space Sector (Public and/or Private).
  • Experience within a 360 Recruitment environment – full responsibility for the entire Recruitment lifecycle including salary negotiation and close (strong negotiation/close skills essential).
  • Motivated to work autonomously to ‘own’ the Recruitment strategy to ‘think outside the box’ and drive innovation in order to achieve the objective of attracting the best sector talent.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment, while liaising effectively with Serco managers based on-site at various locations across Europe.
  • Ability to manage a large number of live vacancies at any one time;
  • Excellent organisational skills;
  • I.T. proficiency including MS Office, Outlook. Basic knowledge of different Applicant Tracking Systems and Job Boards would be an asset;
  • Fluency in English (written, spoken and reading). Any other European Union languages would be an asset.
