Quality Assurance Manager (18491, L3)

For one of our prestigious partner in Brussels, we are hiring a new Quality Assurance Manager, Member in the Project Support Office (PSO), which supports the management, operations and business processes. These IT systems support all relevant business processes of indirect grant management, including organisation registration, applications, project and financial management, and the dissemination of project results.

Role Responsibility

Provide assistance in the framework of the Project Support Office (PSO) for activities related to Governance, Monitoring, Reporting, Project Support, QA (quality assurance and control) and IT Methods and Standards activities in close cooperation with the Management of the IT Unit, which include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Support and assist the Quality Assurance Team by
  1. organise meetings, preparing draft presentations, reviewing quality control related documents, conducting regular monitoring meetings 
  2. further elaborating and maintaining Information Systems quality control procedures
  3. providing support setting up quality plans
  4. giving advice on quality improvements
  • Support monitoring of the IT project progress in the framework of the applied IT Project and Software Development Methodologies (assist in the implementation, review project reports, check consistency and completeness, identify dependencies, planning related issues etc.).
  • Support the organisation/ facilitation of the different meetings (e.g. IT Governance-related Information System Management Board, Technical Coordination /Management Board or other e.g. Lessons Learned, Planning sessions);
  • Prepare support material (in collaboration with Project and Business Managers, Technical Experts where seen fit)
  • Take notes, describe actions identified during the various meetings as input for followup and reporting 
  • Support the reporting to hierarchy on the progress of projects at regular intervals, including contributions to the Mid-term, Annual Activity Reports, DG EAC IT Work Plan, publications on the SharePoint / WIKI and other.
  • Maintain and improve the Collaborative spaces of EAC R4 (on Confluence (WIKI) etc.); Maintain the Functional mailbox of PSO

Successful Candidate

  • You must have at least 9 years’ experience in
  1. Quality Assurance / Control (incl. testing) ,
  2. Project Management practices and procedures,
  3. Digital Communication and Information Sciences, o
  4. Business Studies or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Project Management standards (e.g. PM²) and methodologies, Information Systems lifecycle management (Agile / RUP), Agile methodology as well as Project Management tools (e.g. MS Project / VISIO or other), is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of online collaborative platforms (Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, TEAMS etc.).
  • Excellent drafting skills (in English).
  • Effective interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and adapt to changes in a quick, professional manner.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interact appropriately with the other Team Members of the PSO, the Management of the IT unit, as well as other relevant entities within and outside of DG EAC.
  • Excellent command of English. French would be an asset.
  • Some knowledge of the Commission’s Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programmes would be an asset
