Paralegal / Legal Assistant

We’re looking for a Paralegal  /  Legal Assistant, to reinforce the team in our Brussels office!

Role Responsibility

As Paralegal  /  Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for the Corporate housekeeping of all Serco EU legal entities:
    • Support the Finance managers in the preparation and filing of the annual accounts
    • Work close with the Group Cosec team
    • Manage the legal entities page
    • Manage the appointment/resignation of directors
    • Support the entities’ reorganization process
    • Assist and maintain all Corporate legal records
  • Draft and maintain powers of attorney
  • Assist with the ethics and compliance program: answering KYC (“Know Your Customer”) requests and perform Ultimate Beneficial Owner formalities
  • Prepare and review confidentiality agreements with legal counsel’s supervision
  • Perform legal research
  • Anticipate support needs of the European legal counsels across a variety of corporate legal matters

Successful Candidate

Skills and qualifications

  • At least two years of work experience in a company legal department, in a law firm, in a government office or another type of institution
  • Fluent in French / Dutch / English
  • Bachelor certificate in Legal Studies, or Legal Secretaries Diploma 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in using virtual data rooms or software to upload and organize documents
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion
  • Attention to detail and organisational skills
