Job Introduction
Serco is a partner of choice to the European Institutions and other International Organisations. For the past 30 years, we have been providing European and International Organisations a wide range of services including ICT services in support, infrastructure, operations and development as well as managing different contact centres for the key European Institutions, agencies and organisations across Europe.
We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Network Security Engineer to join our team in the Brussels Office.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement security measures, including firewalls, secure access, and encryption technologies, to protect sensitive data and ensure secure communication within the organization.
- Oversee the management of secure network environments, including the configuration and maintenance of security systems like Active Identity CMS and Check Point firewalls.
- Respond to security incidents, analyze potential threats, and implement solutions to mitigate risks, leveraging extensive experience in secure network environments.
- Ensure all security practices are aligned with ITIL standards and regulatory requirements, particularly within European institutions, to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for network security issues, utilizing a deep understanding of secure access, encryption, and remote access technologies.
Successful Candidate
Education and Certifications
- Higher education in Computer Science, electronics, telecommunications or relevant subject
- CCNA Cyber Ops
- CCT Routing & Switching
- Other Certification in technology related domain
Languages, Protocols, Standards and methodologies
- Excellent knowledge of network protocols
- Excellent knowledge of network security
- ITIL (change management, incident management, configuration management, availability management)
- Wide area protocols (ISDN, ADSL, etc.)
Technical Environment, Tools and Products
- Excellent knowledge of administration of Fortinet firewall systems, content inspection, firewall statistics and related security tools.
- Excellent knowledge of administration of CISCO firewall systems, content inspection, firewall statistics and related security tools.
- Excellent knowledge of operating systems (Microsoft Windows and Linux)
- Very good knowledge of network management, monitoring and debugging tools
- Good knowledge of PKI infrastructure
- Good knowledge of dial-in systems with authentication and encryption
- Good knowledge of Intrusion Detection Systems: FirePower Treat Defense (FTD)
- Good knowledge of proxy servers
- Basic knowledge of application layer XML filters.
Linguistic Skills
- Written and oral English or French
- Written and oral English (if French chosen above) or French (if English chosen above)
Additional Profile Relevant Elements
- Certified in Security Classified Information Mandatory Briefing (CLIMB) or will obtain it within 12 months
- Certified in Serco Essential Security training or will obtain it within 12 months and complete the annual refresh.
