Role Responsibility

  • Report to the MetOp Engineering and AIV Manager
  • Responsible for the provision of instrument engineering support for the NOAA instruments on-board the MetOp satellite series. 
  • Be part of the Single Space Segment Team (SSST) 
  • Providing engineering analysis and test data assessments as needed on the NOAA instruments;
  • Participation to the In-Orbit performance review for the NOAA instruments;
  • Providing engineering support during EUMETSAT ARB for NOAA instrument anomaly investigations;
  • Contribution to the definition of the MetOp-A EOL Technological phase;
  • Support SSST in reviewing ICDs, IOMs, and SIOV documentation as needed for the NOAA instruments;
  • Support SSST for the preparations of the NOAA instruments for the MetOp-C campaign;
  • Support SSST for any unplanned activities at Industry premises that might arise on short notice;
  • Support SSST in preparation for the PLM-3 Thermal Vacuum (TV) test, including the instrument test jig preparation;
  • Support SSST in preparation for any meeting with NOAA/NASA;
  • Support SSST in discussions with NASA/NOAA on the Space Environment Monitor (SEM) post-calibration re-delivery to MetOp. This shall include reviewing and commenting the End Item Delivery Package (EIDP) and supporting the Pre-Ship Review (PSR);
  • Support the bi-weekly Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) telecons with the partner agencies, as requested;
  • Review and comment document change requests;
  • Provide monthly progress reports.
     

Successful Candidate

  • Engineering PhD or Master Degree in a relevant area.
  • At least 4 years of working experience with similar tasks as described above.
